This week, I'm choosing to do my blog post on the song "Hotel California" by The Eagles. First and foremost, this piece actually happens to be one of my most favorite songs ever, and has been as long as I can remember. It's actually one of my dads top favorite songs as well, and I give him the credit for always playing it and me loving it ever since I was a child. It gives me the best feeling in the world. When I saw on the study guide that this was going to be one of our songs this unit, I got so excited! It's funny, it's actually a pretty lengthy song; but every single second is so perfect. This song is such a throwback, yet I still listen to it regularly. It takes me back to when I was a kid; it fills me with the best overwhelming emotions. It takes me back to riding in the car with my dad and enjoying every second of the song. This song never fails to remind me of my dad, and I love that. I personally think this song holds one of the best electric guitar solos in history. This song has actually been one of the biggest influences for my inspiration of wanting to learn to play the electric guitar. If that happened, I'd probably attempt to learn this song!
The song is a slow to average pace, and it's so nice to listen to while in any mood. The instrumentals are heavenly, as well as Glenn Frey's (lead singer) voice. The background vocals are flawless as well. If you haven't heard this song, I highly recommend it!
It's really cool that you connect to this song on such a personal level. It's incredible how one song can truly inspire us and shape what we do with our lives or even just our free time like how it inspired you to learn the electric guitar. The happy memories with your dad attached to this song are also really cool and I'm glad you got to write about a song that you love so much.
ReplyDeleteI really love your topic on a Rock N Roll song. When you mention this song to you life by listening to it, showed that you had different emotions from it and how we can have different emotions as well. I really liked how you mentioned your dad because I probably found that song the same way you did. I think everybody finds a song from someone.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite songs by The Eagles. My mom has always loved this song so it is one of the first older songs i ever listened to. The vibes from this song are immaculate, turning any road trip into a fond memory.
